So my dear dear emailed back the reseller asking for reason... and the reseller replied "The models that you saw are actually home-user models. Those desktops are not design to work in an office environment and they will neither support XP nor Vista Business."
So... if a Dell Inspiron 545s Desktop (S210507MY) with the specs below is not designed to work in an office environment, then what specs is needed for a PC to work in an office environment?
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor E7400 (2.80GHz, 1066MHz, 3MB)
Genuine Windows Vista(R) Home Basic 32 bit SP1 Edition (English)
3GB (3x 1GB) DDR2 800MHz SDRAM Memory
320GB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive with Native Command Queuing
Dell(TM) S1909WFP 18.5 " Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor
ATI(R) Radeon(TM) HD 4350 512MB DDR2
S210507MY -Get Free Upgrade To 3GB Memory - Expires on 30/7/2009

Maybe they think your since your Dear dear is a lady and hence dont know much about computer and tried to screw her for more $$. how come it matters if it is used at home or office? is it the licence cost of the software?
that's what i'm trying to figure out... license cost of software? it only comes with windows OS which i don't think there's difference between prices for home and office usage...
i suspect its either system screwed up or that fella is using a old price quote? :P
good specs, can this use for games?
its almost july 30. the promo will expire. is this a good deal? im planning to buy 1.
it's good enuf for normal games but dont expect too much due to the ATI 4350... get a 4850 or 4770 to replace the 4350 then u can play any games.
